Building the best billing platform in one year

In 2023, Hyperline saw significant growth, especially in product development. The year marked the end of our beta testing program and the official launch of our end-to-end billing platform. Hyperline now offers a comprehensive and competitive version that continues to improve rapidly with daily user feedback.

With our billing platform, the focus is on customization and adaptability to our clients' unique use cases, breaking away from the norm where clients often have to conform to the limitations of old-fashioned billing platform.

Hyperline is now accessible to everyone in self-serve for free, reflecting our commitment to offer the best user experience on the market. Opening the product for free tests its ability to convince users of its value—this is the level of transparency we’re looking for.

As we step into 2024, let's reflect on the past year and celebrate our tech and product achievements.

The Hyperline 5 key product pillars in 2023

These five pillars guided us in building our next-gen billing platform. Keeping these core product values in mind allowed us to accelerate our product delivery.

Building the first billing solution users enjoy

Opening our billing platform for free self-serve confirms our mission: to make billing radically simple - and even enjoyable! With a redesigned product experience and a step-by-step user journey, we welcome new users every day who autonomously navigate the platform and start billing their clients without assistance. Enabling users to run their billing autonomously from A to Z using our robust and comprehensive platform is the best gift we could hope for.

Building the best all-in-one billing solution

In a market where new players often focus narrowly on specific billing aspects, Hyperline stands out with a conviction: to build a single platform addressing all use cases and centralizing all customer billing needs. This all-in-one vision guided the development of core features:

  • Metering

Metering is vital to our value proposition, facilitating the management of diverse pricing models. We addressed the complexities with features like data loaders, easy-to-use APIs, clear visibility for admins and end customers, and a dedicated product type for automated seat-based/licensed billing.

  • Subscriptions

Our subscription capabilities allow users to model a clear and reusable product catalog, supporting various pricing models, currencies, payment intervals, and more. It's one of the most flexible models in the market, accommodating both simple and complex scenarios. Integration with CRMs like Salesforce and HubSpot enhances subscription management efficiency.

  • Invoicing

We introduced a complete invoicing component handling recurring and one-off usage, multiple languages, VAT rules, and more. Detailed exports in various formats and partnerships with accounting software like Pennylane cater to finance teams and accountants.

  • Payment

The final focus of our product foundation was payment orchestration. Integration with leading processors like Stripe, Mollie, and GoCardless ensures seamless cash collection, supporting various payment methods, and simplifying reconciliation. Hyperline is provider-agnostic, offering flexibility and easy switching.

Building a billing solution that connects with your business stack

Hyperline aims to be at the heart of your business stack, connected to daily tools for an end-to-end process. From quote to cash, Hyperline streamlines billing by connecting to CRM (Salesforce, Hubspot, etc.), accounting tools (Pennylane, Xero, NetSuite, etc.), analytics tools (ChartMogul, etc.), operations tools (Zapier, etc.), and data stores (Segment, PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, etc.). We initiated this ecosystem vision in 2023 and plan to accelerate this momentum in 2024.

Building a billing solution made for both engineering and business teams

Billing is a cross-functional topic in SaaS businesses. Finance, sales, operations, and engineering teams are all involved in integrating a new tool and/or using it daily. Recognizing this, we built the first billing platform that offers a user-friendly experience for non-tech profiles with many features accessible directly in-app (no code/low code). Simultaneously, we reimagined the developer experience through an intuitive API and pre-built components for complex tasks, enabling quick and effortless integration.

Building the most flexible billing platform

One of the fundamental criteria in choosing a billing tool should be its ability to adapt to all use cases, especially in terms of pricing models. While SaaS pricing was once relatively straightforward, it is becoming more complex, with new hybrid models emerging. Hyperline's mission is to manage all types of pricing models, from basic to the most complex, thanks to unprecedented flexibility in product and plan configuration.

Moving to 2024

In 2024, our substantial investment in rapid product development will persist. Early in the year, we're prioritizing the simplification of cash collection for traditional bank transfer payments by introducing dedicated workflows for dunning, streamlining bank transfer payment reconciliation through automated flows, and bolstering CRM integrations for a smoother user experience. Additionally, we're continually enhancing our product with various smaller capabilities!
